WakiliGO ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the WakiliGO tenthlining tool, how we use it, and your rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Documents you upload

When you upload a PDF for tenthlining, we receive and temporarily store that file solely to perform the formatting you requested. We do not read, analyse, index, or share the contents of your legal documents.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Paystack. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN, card number, or full payment credentials. What we do receive from Paystack is a transaction reference and confirmation of payment status — nothing more.

Usage data

We collect basic technical data such as your browser type, device, and the pages you visit. This is used to monitor performance and fix errors. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.

Contact information

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we collect your name and email address to respond to your query. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

2. How We Use Your Information

To process and return your formatted document
To verify and record your payment via Paystack
To respond to support requests you send us
To monitor and improve the performance and reliability of the Service
To comply with our legal obligations under Kenyan law

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.

3. Document Retention & Deletion

Your uploaded documents are automatically deleted from our servers after processing is complete. We do not maintain a long-term archive of your legal files.

Payment records (transaction reference, amount, date) are retained for a reasonable period for accounting and dispute resolution purposes, as required by Kenyan law.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with the following:

Paystack — to process your payment. Their privacy policy is available at paystack.com/privacy.
Supabase — our database provider, used to track job status and batch processing. Data is stored securely.
Vercel — our hosting provider. Your requests pass through Vercel's infrastructure.

All third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

5. Cookies

We use minimal, essential cookies only — for example, to maintain your session during document upload and payment. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and secure cloud infrastructure. However, no system is completely immune to risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019

You have the right to:

Know what personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your personal data, where we are not legally required to retain it
Object to processing of your data
Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) of Kenya

8. Children

The Service is intended for legal professionals and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
